An inspection is to be carried out on ten reservoirs in County Wicklow.
Irish Water has teamed up with Wicklow County Council to carry out the inspections which will reveal whether any maintenance works need to be done on the reservoirs.
The reservoirs included in the programme are Coolboy/Coolafany, Hollywood, Kiltegan, Knockananna, Knockanarrigan, Rathdangan, Stratford, Valleymount/Ballyknockan, Barndarrig and Thomastown Reservoirs. The Knockananna Reservoir is the first reservoir to be included in the programme and work will take place from Tuesday, 05 July to Thursday, 07 July.
Irish Water will write to affected customers prior to the work taking place. The majority of the programme is expected to be completed by October of this year with work scheduled to take place on the Hollywood and Valleymount/Ballyknockan reservoirs in Spring 2017.
Irish Water's Regional Operations and Maintenance Manager, for the East and Midlands Region, Tom Leahy said: "Irish Water is committed to providing a high quality and secure water supply for the people of Wicklow. It is important for us to inspect all our assets and carry out routine maintenance work. We apologise to customers who may be impacted by water interruptions during programme. This programme is an important part of our ongoing improvement work to our water infrastructure in County Wicklow."
