Contractors Graham Construction is to re-commence work on a sewer improvement project in south Belfast.
Sewer relining and repair work is to start on Monday, 20 June, between Park Road and Broughton Gardens in the Ravenhill Road area.
The work is a continuation of the work completed in the area last year, which was postponed to summer 2016 to minimise traffic disruption.
There will initially be a week preparatory cleaning which will be carried out at night. During this time, a single traffic lane will be operational on the Ravenhill Road, with a traffic light system in place to control traffic flows. In order to improve traffic flows on the Ravenhill Road during this time, it will be necessary to close Park Road at its junction with the Ravenhill Road. Access for residents will be maintained via the Ormeau Road end of Park Road.
Stage 2 of the project which is located between Ravenhill Avenue and Ormeau Embankment is planned for August 2016. A two-way traffic flow will be maintained for some of the section by making use of the central area of the road. However, a period of single lane traffic, with traffic light controls will also be necessary.
