FF And FG Slammed For Failing To Address Ongoing Housing Crisis

Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have been slammed for failing to address the ongoing housing crisis in Fingal, Dublin.

Sinn Féin said there are no real policy differences between these two parties and together they command a majority.

Cllr Malachy Quinn said: "It is remarkable that on Fingal County Council both parties with the support of Labour as well as selective Independent councillors can work together.


"What we are witnessing is a political power play between these two parties whilst Fingal’s housing crisis worsens and Garda man hours come under enormous pressure. For a consecutive year the issue of Rural Crime across the towns of Fingal had been to the forefront of the recent Fingal Joint Policing Meeting held in Balbriggan

"That is not good enough for the thousands on the Housing list in the County or the residents who find themselves the victims of crime due to the consistent lack of investment by the previous two Governments in Garda resources.

"Regardless of any of the political gamesmanship over the past week it is imperative that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael respect their mandate and work to address the issues of Fingal as well as the State."
