Further Expansion Plans Announced For School In Co Antrim

Further expansion plans have been announced for the Roddensvale School in Larne, Co Antrim.

Construction work has started to develop a new hydrotherapy pool in the school.

Education Minister John O'Dowd officially opened new classrooms, a dining area, a hygiene room and other new facilities.

The plans are part of a £1.5 million investment to improve the high quality of education in Roddensvale.

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan welcomed the news.

He said: "I have been campaigning for more facilities for this school for many years and I'm pleased to see this funding from the minister in place.

"I want to commend Principal John Madden for his dedicated work to deliver a first-class education for all pupils at the school and wish him and all the staff and pupils every success in the future."
