Five Schools In Fermanagh To Share Funding For Environmental Work

Five schools in Co Fermanagh are to share funding of £11,750 to be used for environmental work.

The money is from the Department of Environment's (DOE's) Challenge Fund.

St. Comhghall's College in Lisnaskea, has been offered £4,000 to complete their 'School Farm & Allotments' project. This will engage pupils, teachers and the wider community in developing a self sustaining farm within the school to be used for environmental education. Allotment facilities, a wildlife garden and pond will be also installed.


Jones Memorial, Tattygar, Libellaw and Maguiresbridge Primary Schools will collaborate to deliver their 'StreamScapes Erne: Catchment Waters & Wildlife' project.

32 schools and nurseries across Northern Ireland will be offered £90,245 from the Challenge Fund for the Environmental Education projects.
