New Playground To Be Developed In Cork

Cork County Council has started developing a new playground on the former Gunpowder Mills site in Ballincollig.

The development, costing in the region of €340,000, is expected to be complete in April 2015.

Councillor Deirdre Forde, chair of the Ballincollig Carrigaline District, said: "This multi use playground will further enhance the facilities provided by the Council in Ballincollig and will be a huge benefit to the community."

Other facilities which have been provided include a Skate Park, Riverside Picnic Area, Community Allotments Scheme, Permanent Orienteering Course, tar-surface looped walkways and rustic trails.
