A total of £3.9m has been invested in road improvement schemes in Omagh this year.
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy made the announcement ahead of a meeting between TransportNI and Omagh District Council on Thursday evening.
Minister Kennedy commented: "A wide range of maintenance and road improvement schemes is planned or already complete in the Omagh District Council area.
"Work on the £310,000 resurfacing contract on the A5 Curr Road at Newtownsaville was completed in October 2014. This was an essential road improvement scheme within the Omagh District Council area.
"The 1.2km of resurfacing will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on this main route between Omagh and Belfast."
He continued: "The autumn round of Council meetings is a timely opportunity for Councils to discuss potential schemes and priorities. The impact of current resource budget pressures on my Department is affecting road improvement schemes and routine maintenance of the road network.
"While there remain pressures on budgets, Departmental officials will continue to develop local transport and safety measures schemes and resurfacing schemes, to enhance safety, improve traffic flow and provide measures for pedestrians and cyclists."
Des McFarlane, Network Development Manager, also discussed a number of schemes that are planned or currently under way. This includes the completion of a £200,000 collision site remedial scheme on the A32 Clanabogan Road at the junction with the U1540 Brookemount Road; as well as the sightline and carriageway improvement scheme on the B48 Glenpark Road/U1209 Dunmullan Road in Omagh. Elsewhere, work is soon expected to begin on the sightline improvement scheme on the B72 Scraghy Road, Scraghy.
