Improvements are also being made to an adjoining entrance lobby.
The aim is to transform an underused hall into a modern amenity which will be fit for purpose, easily accessible and open to all – and right in the centre of the city.

The new facility is expected to qualify for an entertainments licence which will open up a range of options which were previously not possible.
Funding is being provided in two tranches for the main scheme: £200,000 from Belfast City Council, through its Local Investment Fund, with match funding of £50,000 from the Alpha Programme, managed and administered by Groundwork NI, Landfill Community Fund (Tax Credits programme).
