The £326,000 scheme between Shaftesbury Square and Euterpe Street involves the resurfacing of the carriageway and some localised footway resurfacing works.
The scheme will be delivered over two phases and is expected to take around ten weeks to complete.
Phase one will see works for around a three week period between Shaftesbury Square and Sandy Row. To help ensure the safety of road users and contractors it will be necessary to close the Donegall Road between Sandy Row and Shaftesbury Square to city-bound traffic. It will also be necessary to temporarily prohibit traffic movement in this direction from the adjoining streets.

Country-bound traffic will be accommodated on the Donegall Road, with a city-bound diversion in place via Sandy Row, Hope Street, Bruce Street and Dublin Road. It will also be necessary to prohibit parking along this section of the Donegall Road to facilitate traffic travelling in the country-bound direction.
Phase two of the improvements will take place between Sandy Row and Euterpe Street for a three week period. Works will take place between 9.30am and 4pm. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to help maintain two-way traffic flow on the Donegall Road.
