Energia has announced it is holding a public open day at Hollyford wind farm.
The community of all ages are invited to the Hollyford Wind Farm Open Day on Tues 10th June.
The open day offers members of the public and local schools the chance to learn about the turbines and renewable electricity from Energia staff, who will meet visitors and bring them on a tour of the wind farm. There will also be face and turbine painting, goody bags and information for parents and teachers.
Access to the wind farm is from Hollyford town which is on the R497 road between Nenagh and Tipperary Town.
Energia is one of Ireland's leading providers of renewable energy. The company’s operational windfarm portfolio, which combines power from Energia's windfarms and power from third party windfarms contracted to Energia under power purchase agreements, currently supplies over 680MWs of green power. This will increase by a further 300 MWs of 'green' power by a number of wind farm facilities that are currently in development.
Peter Baillie, Managing Director, Energia Renewables said: "To mark Global Wind Day 2014, we are inviting the public and schools to visit our fantastic wind farm facility at Hollyford. All visitors will receive an informative presentation on renewable energy and a tour of the Hollyford wind farm. We look forward to welcoming all interested members of the public and are encouraging them to contact us to reserve a place."
