New Premises To Be Constructed For Dunluce Family Centre

Minister for Social Development, Nelson McCausland, has announced funding of £309,800 for the construction of new premises for the Dunluce Family Centre Community Organisation based at Shaws Court, in the Outer West Neighbourhood Renewal Area.

The community organisation is currently based in a small housing executive house in Ballymagroarty. Work on the new premises will include the refurbishment and extension of a vacant building at Shaws Court which had previously been used as a children's playschool.

The new premises will provide facilities and space for many community services such as childcare, education and training opportunities. The new building will also assist in addressing the severe lack of crèche facilities in the Ballymagroarty area and will enable the Dunluce Family Centre to continue to deliver the much needed Early Intervention and Family support services to the residents of this Neighbourhood Renewal Area.

Announcing the funding the Minister said: "This further investment of £309,800 illustrates my commitment to the future of the area. This funding will support the Dunluce Family Centre in delivering an invaluable Family Support Service to the people of the Outer West Neighbourhood Renewal Area. The new building will enable the Dunluce Family Centre to increase the services already provided."
