DRD Investment Welcomed

Ronald McKeegan, the Ulster Unionist Party's Foyle Constituency Chairman, has welcomed the recent investment by the Department of Regional Development in the Tullyally area of L'Derry.

Mr McKeegan said: "I am delighted to finally see some much needed investment in Tullyally. For too many years Tullyally and its residents have been neglected and ignored.

"The residents of Tullyally themselves have come together to work to improve the local area. That work is now paying off and we are seeing the Department of Regional Development investing money in the locality and as a result we have new pathways, new lighting and new kerbs being laid to enhance the area.


"This is welcome news from DRD, but I don`t want to see it stopping there, this is very much a work in progress. In the meantime I would urge local residents to take care until the work has been completed. On visiting the estate with the local community worker we were made aware of some health and safety issues around the area. I have had a meeting with road service and have been assured by the Lead contractor that measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of the public during and until the completion of work."
