£495,000 Resurfacing Scheme On Clooney Rd Begins

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced the start of a £495,000 major resurfacing scheme at Clooney Road, Ballykelly, near Limavady.

The work is due to begin on 20 June at Wallworth between Riverview and Ballykelly Forest.

The Minister said: "The scheme will include the provision of footways and combined cycle paths to encourage the public to incorporate more sustainable modes of transport into their daily lives. Drainage improvements and street lighting will also be upgraded as part of the works which together with resurfacing will provide significant improvement to the roads asset and to the benefit to road users for many years to come."


The works are expected to take 21 weeks to complete however traffic disruption will be minimal for much of the period and only minor delays are expected. Additional signage will be displayed to give advance notice of resurfacing operations which will be undertaken outside of peak traffic hours to minimise disruption to the travelling public.

The scheme is expected to be completed by 15 November.
