Speaking ahead of the meeting between Roads Service and Lisburn City Council, Danny Kennedy said: "Throughout Roads Service my Department invested over £100million in structural maintenance, improving the many miles of road infrastructure across Northern Ireland in the last financial year.

"In particular in the Lisburn City Council area despite ever increasing demands on budgets, Roads Service invested over £9million in delivering a comprehensive range of road schemes and maintenance work.
"Roads Service is using its available resources highly effectively and continues to deliver quality public services in the Lisburn area and across Northern Ireland."
Highlighting resurfacing schemes, the Minister said: "Road users in Lisburn area have quickly realised the benefits of the investment by the Department with the progress of a number of schemes including extensive resurfacing at Dromara Road Hillsborough, Redhill Road and Hillsborough Road, Dromara."
