Road works are due to start on Saturday 2 March in preparation for the resurfacing of a 600metres length of the Armagh Road Portadown, from the Armagh Road roundabout at Northway towards the end of the overtaking lane. This will provide new surfacing to the carriageway and where necessary the drainage and hard shoulders will also be improved.

The Minister said: "The works will improve the structural condition of this stretch of carriageway and also enhance its running surface. Motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys."
Normal traffic flows will be maintained in the Portadown direction with a 40mph speed restriction. A road closure will be in place for Armagh bound traffic.
Traffic coming from Portadown will be diverted from the Armagh Road roundabout along the A27 Armagh Road to A27 Mahon Road to B78 Markethill Road and onwards on the A51 to Armagh. The speed restrictions and diversionary route will be signposted.
These traffic arrangements are required between Saturday 2 March 2013 and Friday 15 March 2013 for the safety of both those carrying out the work and the public.
