Resurfacing Works To Begin In Antrim

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that a £196,000 resurfacing scheme is set to begin on the Dungonnell Road in Antrim before the end of February.

The improvements will take place between the Antrim Road and Dunore Road on the C24.

Mr Kennedy said: "Once complete, the scheme will increase the structural strength and improve the running surface of the road, benefiting all road users."

To help minimise inconvenience for road users and local businesses, including Belfast International Airport, the majority of the work is programmed to be completed using lane closures.

While two-way traffic flow will be maintained, from Monday 25 February until Friday 8 March lane closures will be in place.

The Dungonnell Road will be closed from Tuesday 26 February until Thursday 7 March to allow final surfacing. All traffic diversions will be well sign posted.

The entire scheme is expected to be completed on 8 March 2013.
