Brett Martin, a leading manufacturer of plumbing and drainage systems, has made a significant investment to enhance its service to builders merchants across Northern Ireland.
The Mallusk-based company has purchased five new Mercedes Benz Atego trucks from Mercedes Benz Truck and Van (NI) Ltd in a deal worth almost £200,000.
This is the latest stage of a significant investment programme that has seen the company invest over £7million.
In addition to the new vehicles, its investment programme has seen the company unveil a £2m wind turbine at its Mallusk headquarters; improve on-site facilities, including a purpose-built ‘Centre for Product Excellence’ and new warehousing; invest £0.5m in IT systems to improve customer service and implement a product tooling and machinery investment worth over £2m.
The new vehicles will help the company service its local customer-base more efficiently and fulfil its delivery promise of a 3-day turnaround from receipt of initial order to any merchant in Northern Ireland.
Joe Doyle from Brett Martin said: "This is an investment to enhance delivery which is part of our commitment to service excellence. Being light, manoeuvrable and highly reliable, the vehicles will help us meet our commitment to delivering products to our customer-base of Builders Merchants across Northern Ireland, when and where they need them” he continues.
"As a responsible and forward-thinking company, we are also conscious of the need to reduce our carbon foot-print and to be as energy efficient as we can, so we are very pleased to build on the positive impact on the environment of our wind turbine with these more energy efficient vehicles," he added.
