The Minister continued: “As well as learning through the core curriculum, the children and young people at St Patrick’s are involved in a number of other extra-curricular activities, including sports, dance and music. The school also places a strong emphasis on the promotion of our Irish language, culture and literature as well as participating in the GAA strand of my Department’s Primary Sports Programme. I would encourage the pupils to continue to take part in these activities.

Concluding, the Minister thanked the Principal and staff of the school for inviting him. He said: “I have enjoyed my visit to St Patrick’s Primary School today and I thank everyone involved for their welcome. I would also like to commend the Board of Governors, Principal, teachers and all the staff for their continuing hard work and wish all the pupils every success in the future.”
