G4S Integrated Services Scoops Top Industry Award

The British Institute of Facilities Management, Ireland Region selected the first ever recipient of the inaugural award which recognises outstanding contribution to facilities Management. G4S Integrated Services scooped the title for their entry which detailed the operational and facilities management at The Criminal Courts of Justice complex in Dublin which opened in 2010.

Speaking at the presentation of the award, John Farrell, of G4S said: "We are delighted and honoured to be the first recipient of this prestigious award, the team worked extremely hard on this project and it is wonderful to see it be recognised by the Facilities Management industry body."

G4S were presented with the award at the prestigious BIFM Annual Conference, sponsored by ARAMARK and H&J Martin. The event saw around 200 delegates from the field of Facilities Management across Ireland gather together to share knowledge, build contacts, learn from the industry experts and even gather information on the latest technology and products available to them.

The successful event was the 15th conference to take place, but the Award was the first of its kind, Danny McAuley, BIFM, Ireland Regional Chairperson and Account Director for sponsor, ARAMARK explains why the award was introduced: "We felt it was important to recognise the hard work these companies put into ensuring that the buildings we work, play and live out our lives in are run as efficiently and as effectively as they are, so often Facilities Management is not seen as a key player, but perhaps that is because, when done well, no-one should be aware of it! As the industry body for the Facilities Management Industry we are delighted to launch this award and look forward to seeing candidates submit their impressive entries for years to come."

Runners up were CBRE, one of the world's largest commercial real estate firms and the Waterford Institute of Technology, both received a certificate to mark their outstanding contribution to the industry.
