KCC Architectural, the leading supplier of integrated Architectural products and services to the construction industry has been forced to expand its business abroad due to the down turn in construction activity in Ireland.
KCC’s Managing Director, Chris Kilpatrick said that ‘with the domestic market for construction activity reduced to all all time low KCC had to look abroad for growth and opened up an office in London in January 2011 and has just opened an office in Doha, Qatar last month.’
Kilpatrick is well aware that taking the company on to the international market will not be an easy ride and the company will have to compete on price, product, quality and availability, however he is happy that he has appointed the right sales people in both markets; the most essential ingredient for success overseas. Peter Hutchins has been appointed Business Development Manager for the London Branch and Paul Barry formerly of Architectural Hardware has been appointed Business Development Manager for our operation in Qatar.
Last month KCC was awarded a £450,000 contract for the fit out of the Media/Communications building at the Olympic site in London, this will bring our sales close to £1 Million for our first twelve months in operation. In addition to its branches overseas KCC has also supplied contracts in Scotland, Russia and Turkey. Steady progress in heavy seas best describes KCCs current trading position in Ireland and while we cannot change the wind we have adjusted our sails to cope best with the prevailing market conditions in Ireland while looking overseas for growth. KCC envisage that 50% of their turnover will be achieved outside Ireland by 2015.
