Limerick City Council has started proceedings against the school management at John F Kennedy Memorial National School.
City Hall’s planning department has served two enforcement notices on the board of management at the Ennis Road school, warning them they may be in breach of planning legislation.

One relates to the height of the development - expected to be complete in November - while another refers to unauthorised windows on the west side.
A local resident told the Limerick Leader that the height of the school was already over a meter too high and this is without at roof.
If the school does not act, to correct this, it could be brought to court by the local authority, where it could face fines of up to €12m.
The project saw the demolition of an existing single storey primary school, temporary decanting and then the construction of a new 11 classroom primary school.
The multi-million euro work commenced on site during mid-October, 2010.The cost of the scheme is in the region of €4m.
School Principal Bill Reidy insists that the enforcement notices have been acted upon and any problems have been rectified.
