Tughans Appoints Two New Partners

Tughans, one of Northern Ireland's largest and longest established law firms, has announced the appointment of Paddy Connolly and Neil Cahill as Partners to their Insurance Litigation department.

Commenting on the appointments, Kathy McGillie, Head of Insurance Litigation at Tughans, said: “There has been substantial growth within the department over the last three years and Neil and Paddy’s appointments to the partnership are in recognition of their contribution to that continued growth.”

Neil Cahill graduated from Queen’s University in 2000, qualified as a solicitor with Tughans in 2002 and became a director in 2010. He specialises in defending civil litigation relating to road traffic accidents and has acted on behalf of the Motor Insurers Bureau. He also works on public and employers' liability claims, and has extensive expertise in the field of travel law.

Paddy Connolly graduated in Law from Queen's University, Belfast in 1999 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2001, subsequently joining Tughans as a member of the Insurance Litigation team in 2002. Paddy has significant experience defending public liability claims, employer's liability claims, road traffic accidents and health and safety prosecutions. He has also developed a particular expertise in handling recovery actions on behalf of insurers and their policyholders.
