Ennis Considers Bid For Public Plaza

Detailed plans were submitted recently to Ennis Town Council for the demolition of all structures on a site in the town to allow for the construction of a public plaza facing onto the Limerick Road.

Once built, this will include both soft and hard landscaping, a retail development including a food store of 7,834 square metres gross incorporating customer restaurant and cafe, off-licence sales area and a storage service yard.


This part of the development also includes a separate ancillary two-storey retail and office block of 1,194 square metres gross; a standalone two-storey office block of 657 square metres gross; three kiosk units with a total gross area of 216 square metres connected by a covered walkway in the car park area.

The development will include 610 parking spaces, provision for cycle parking, trolley bays, and vehicular access to and from the Tobarteascain Road.

The proposed development includes an ESB substation and switchrooms, sprinkler tank, attenuation tank, combined heat and power unit, recycling centre and ATM.
