RoanKabin Wins Dublin Muslim School Contract

A specialist for all portable and modular buildings, Ireland's RoanKabin, has been awarded the contract to design and build two new modular classroom buildings and one resource room to replace existing school buildings at the Muslim National School in Clonskeagh, Dublin.

"The window for manufacture, delivery and installation was extremely tight with all buildings needing to be installed and commissioned over the school’s break in September," explained Daniel McEvoy, from RoanKabin.

"The school was renting the existing accommodation on a long term basis and RoanKabin was able to offer a package to buy new classrooms which is in line with the Department of Education's new policy of purchasing modular buildings for long term use."

The whole project was completed in just four weeks from date of signed drawings. All buildings were designed to meet new building regulations, with special attention being given to sustainability in terms of the buildings thermal efficiencies and air tightness. The turnkey project includes full civil works including ramps, paths, foundations and connection to services.

Colm Mc Gleade, Principal at the Muslim National School, has been working at the school since its creation in 1990. "We are very happy with every aspect of the project and the work done by the RoanKabin team," he said. "The new buildings are bright, well constructed and noticeably more spacious than our previous buildings, therefore more comfortable.

"Also the installation of the new buildings was carried out in a very short period of time, with minimal interruption to the teachers and pupils."

The Muslim National School in Dublin is the first state-funded primary school for Muslim children in Ireland. The school was established by the Islamic Foundation of Ireland in 1990 and it celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2010.
