Several construction sector businesses are hoping for a good turnout at a forthcoming Birmingham show that is targeting farmers for new contracts.
Irish-based farmers are being urged to use well-established transport links to access the major farm expo this autumn along with their fellow dairy farmers in Great Britain.
The Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers' (RABDF) plans are well underway to stage its Dairy Event and Livestock Show on Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 September at the NEC, Birmingham.
According to the organiser, companies supplying concrete and concrete products - such as silage walls, tanks and slats - are seeking new business contacts among the rural community.
Confirming such firms as MacCrete as an exhibitor, RABDF Chief Executive, Nick Everington, said: "Relocating the UK's largest specialist event to the NEC is proving to be an exciting challenge and has attracted numerous firms in the building sector as exhibitors."
The organiser said that its new venue less than 15 minutes walk from Birmingham airport and noted that more than 400 exhibitors have already confirmed stand space bookings, of which approximately 25% have booked additional stand space compared with last year.
"In the first instance the move is enabling us to continue to build on the event in its current format, offering comprehensive technical, business and financial information for the entire UK ruminant sector, and also provide a one-stop shop for dairy, beef, sheep and goat farmers," he said.
Macrete utilises a 45-acre site at Toomebridge, Co Antrim and has manufacturing facilities that include a modern batching plant, a testing laboratory where thorough concrete strength analysis is carried out daily and also has moulding and casting workshops.
Jones McGirr & Co Ltd is also taking part to promote its dedicated and professional service specialising in the supply and installation of geomembrane and geotextile linings for the agricultural sector – largely slurry and waste storage.
The Co Tyrone firm supply and install the linings for earth banked slurry lagoons, which can also be used to line leaking concrete slurry stores and geotextiles for out-wintering or stand-off pads.
Some other confirmed exhibitors within the sector include Carlow Precast; Comfort Slat Mat; Moore Concrete; O'Reilly Concrete Group and Teemore Engineering.
