A Public Sector Liaison Committee meeting at Ballymena Council earlier this month saw members told that the application for 15 apartments to be built at the re-development of 1-3 Fir Park, was removed from the schedule.

Councillor Paul Frew told the Ballymena Times that the area already has to deal with traffic problems, he said: "There are double yellow lines but people choose to ignore them, and this brings the road down.
"It is a real shame and I have asked them (planners) to take this into consideration."
Howeevr, Senior Planning Officer, Denise Kerr told the meeting that traffic problems are a police issue, she said: "It's not our remit to enforce parking restrictions, we cannot do police work."
