The Kilternan project will also see the construction of a number of commercial and residential buildings, along with a new car park.
The plans for the new centre, which will include a 0.5-hectare village green, will include assurances to protect the areas natural rural features.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council's Senior Executive Architect, Bob Hannon, said: "We've taken into account that Kilternan is a very special place and of great cultural significance.
"The plan promises to be sympathetic to the history of the area," he said.
The scheme will also provide for a smaller number of buildings on the Enniskerry and Glenamuck roads, including a commercial centre, terraced housing and a two-metre-high stone wall.
