SurfaPore™ ThermoDry

SurfaPore ThermoDry is a unique water based formulation that when added to any ordinary acrylic paint it induces thermal insulation and water-repellency.

By making paint a better thermal insulator that can keep moisture away at the same time, from your walls and ceilings, loss of heat is reduced and so are your energy costs.

SurfaPore ThermoDry consists of a special mix of insulating nano-sized and micro-sized aggregate particles. The addition of SurfaPore ThermoDry to paint, does not affect applicability, viscosity, elasticity, coloration or life expectancy of the paint. The thermal insulating properties of SurfaPore ThermoDry are dirived from the dual action of heat transfer blocking particles and water repelling nanoparticles. Heat can "travel" through building materials in both cold and hot environments. Subsequently, energy costs are incurred in heating a house during the cold winter or in cooling a building during a hot summer. The long term effectiveness of paints and additives that simply attempt to block heat transfer is questionable, as the accumulated humidity promotes heat transfer and virtually eliminating humidity penetration and by reducing heat transfeer. The product will contribute to energy reduction, to C02 emission efficiency and provide significant savings on the current rising utility bills of each household and should be an essential part of all Sustainable Buildings.
