The NI Housing Executive has commenced a £151,000 kitchen improvement scheme in Magherafelt.
The 35 homes benefiting from the project are located in Parkview, Riverside North and South in Castledawson.
District Manager Eddie Doherty said investment in this type of work helps to make a difference to the lives of tenants.
"During the scheme these tenants are having brand new modern kitchens fitted and they can select their kitchen units and worktops from a range of finishes," he said.
"Electrical and plumbing installations are being upgraded. This will ensure that there are dedicated sockets for washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers.
"Our Egan contractor, PK Murphy Construction Ltd, is installing the new kitchens and consulting with the tenants on the details of the scheme."
Dorothy Johnston from Parkview is one of the first tenants to have her new kitchen revamped.
She said: "The finish is great with the pelmets, cornices and the fitted extractor fan. Any flaw was dealt with immediately to my satisfaction. The men worked very well and it was clear that they wanted to do the job right. Fantastic."
Seana Hippsley, Customer Service Manager with PK Murphy, is impressed with the co-operation that she has received from the tenants in Magherafelt.
"PK Murphy is committed to achieving high quality and 100% satisfaction from all the residents," said Ms Hippsley.
"We have further developed our customer care strategies, quality and delivery of work, and by striving for zero defects we are providing residents with a kitchen that they can be proud of."
