Copper Ridge Systems - There Has Never Been A Better Time!

Construction News Image
Copper Ridge Systems Ltd have been supplying copper as an alternative to lead flashings through out Ireland for many years.

Copper, is now at its lowest price in 21 years, this combined with a strong Euro against Sterling; means there has never been a better time to contact us to consider your roofing requirements.

On a recent contract in Co. Cork, cost comparisons were made between lead flashings and clay ridge tiles and copper alternatives. Copper came out less expensive, so not only do you benefit from all the qualities of the Copper Systems but you also save money!

If you are using natural slate on your roof why not enhance that investment by adding copper ridge. At €33.00 per metre, it compares favourably with the price of quality clay ridge, but with the additional advantages of copper.

With the cleaner air, due to the reductions in fossil fuels, the moss and algae on roof slopes is becoming more and more of a problem. A copper ridge, not only looks well and blends in with the natural slate, it will also give durability and will inhibit bacterial growth (including moss).

The success of the ridge is mainly down to the ease of installation, fitted in exactly the same way as a traditional dry ridge system. We supply everything in our kit: ridge, stainless steel screws, support poles and block end caps.

In addition to the ridge kit we also supply "pre-formed" copper valleys, these are growing in popularity, replacing traditional lead valleys.

All our copper products, when initially installed, have a very bright finish but after a short time will dull to a deep brown, and eventually to green. We can also age the copper prior to despatch, to give it a traditional green finish on installation.

Using copper removes the risk of white stains that can be seen streaking the roof caused by untreated lead. Also the use of copper roofing products will lend itself to harvesting rainwater either at building stage or if you decide to harvest rainwater at later date.

Copper will last the lifetime of the building.
