Energy consultancy company Smartheat Limited has picked up the 'Best Interior Design Product of the Show Award' at Plan Expo, with its Tonwerk Heat Storage Stoves.
The award was presented by Environment Minister Michael Finneran and CIF Director General Tom Parlon.
Smartheat are the Irish partner for the award winning Tonwerk Heat Storage Stoves.
A Tonwerk Heat Storage Stove provides long-lasting, comfortable warmth and a constant, balanced supply of radiant heat - depending on the model, for more than 12 hours with just one single load of wood.
The simple operating principle of the product is less wood; healthier heat.
At the heart of every Tonwerk Storage Stove there is an integral storage core made from highly heat-conductive, fireproof stone.
When the wood burns, over 60% of the energy produced is captured by the core, stored up and then slowly released back into the environment. This reduces direct heat emission to a comfortable level, and the room does not overheat.
Gradually and in a controlled manner, the heat stored in the core is released via the stone cladding in the form of healthy radiant heat, thereby keeping the ambient temperature comfortable and snug over many hours.
The low stove surface temperature ensures that dust-bearing circulating air is reduced to a minimum, so allergy sufferers can breathe easy.
Good fuel technology and high efficiency results in better combustion with less fine particulate matter.
Storage stoves from Tonwerk Lausen AG rank amongst the best of their kind worldwide in this respect, and carry the 'Holzenergie Schweiz' (Wood Energy Switzerland) quality label to prove it.
These stoves are designed with tomorrow's requirements in mind.
The storage core principle makes Tonwerk Storage Stoves perfect for low-energy housing
Its award-winning design provides an attractive visual focus and adapts to any style, be it classic or modern.
With several models having a swivel function, you can enjoy gazing into the flames from wherever you are in the room.
Tonwerk Storage Stoves are available in a range of bespoke granite and soapstone finishes.
Tonwerk stoves are absolutely unique because there is no equivalent product on the market.
Speaking at the launch of the Tonwerk range to the Irish market, Smartheat managing director, Gilbert McCormack said: "We are very pleased to achieve this prestigious award. The combination of design and functionality of the Tonwerk Heat Storage Stove, offers the energy conscious consumer the very best of Swiss technology, innovation and of course, design."
Smartheat offer expert advice and services to reduce energy consumption in the home and an extensive range of Sustainable Heating Solutions.
