A revolutionary new painting product - designed to help hard pressed home owners, by reducing heating and energy bills - is now available in Ireland.
Thermilate insulating paint additive, when mixed into paint, causes the paint to act as an
insulator, and when used on walls and ceilings, reflects the room's heat back into the building.
According to Brendan Igoe, Irish distributor for Thermilate, it is a completely safe and environmentally friendly product - that is simple to use on almost any surface where paint can be applied to.
"It not only helps raise the room temperature by up to 30C, but it also reduces CO2 emissions and eliminates condensation and mould problems," he said.
"The original product was developed by Thermilate engineers as part of the NASA space programme, and has been continually improved, and most recently updated in 2007-2008."
Mr Igoe explained: "Thermilate has been independently tested, and scientifically proven by world leading laboratories and government bodies such as Energystar, the worldwide body for energy saving products and Geoscience Laboratories US, the leading thermal insulation and energy conservation testing laboratories.
"At a time when Irish utility companies have announced dramatic increases in prices of gas and electricity, we feel Thermilate is in an even better proposition for the energy-conscious consumer," he said.
Thermilate is used as part of regular maintenance by many large companies including the
Ford Motor Company, IKEA, the US Department of Defence, Pratt & Whitney Aerospace, as well as with the thousands of regular homeowners worldwide.
Mr Igoe added: "Feedback from our customers over the last five years has confirmed that people find the product to be very useful for keeping heat in and for the elimination of mould caused by condensation in rooms that tend to be cold."
