Larne FC Deal Makes Way For £5m Tesco Development

Shareholders at Larne Football Club have voted to sell off Inver Park to Tesco - in a move that will make way for a £5m retail development on the site.

Last night owners agreed to sell the land as part of plan devised by Larne Borough Council.

The club will eventually relocate to a new stadium, which will be partially funded by retail giant Tesco.

The new venue is yet to be built, however a full redevelopment at Inver Park has been given the go ahead.

All cash generated from the sale will be reinvested into a new facility.

It is expected the new Larne FC home ground will be finished in time for the club's competitive season in 2010.

Larne Football Club will continue to play at Inver Park until then.
