The candidates will have to display a flair for generating ideas - that will improve water utility operations in the province.
NI Water has stressed the importance of safe, high quality and plentiful water and wastewater services in its business.
The new apprenticeship programme will be focused on implementing systems that affect the future health, wellbeing and environment of Northern Ireland.
NI Water is currently investing £1 million per day in new or upgraded water and wastewater infrastructure and is focussed on delivering reliable and cost effective water and wastewater services to all of Northern Ireland.

Successful trainees will undertake a water industry focused NVQ Level 2 & 3 as well as a City and Guilds Level 2 Technical Certificate with practical skills gained from working in areas such as Wastewater Treatment, Networks Sewerage and Leakage.
Joe Simpson, Head of Human Resources, explained the benefits of the programme, which is open to all ages.
"Initially, apprentices will be based at our training centre in Antrim before undertaking an extended placement period where they will work with experienced NI Water operatives at various locations.
"Successful applicants will enjoy a training salary starting at £10,000 per annum that will increase after a three year period to £18,500 plus an attractive benefits package. I would encourage anyone that wants to join a progressive and forward thinking organisation to apply for these positions."
