The poster targets people who work in construction related trades, such as joiners, electricians, plumbers, ventilation engineers and installers of IT cabling, with the aim of raising awareness about the risks to health from asbestos dust in the building industry.

Speaking at the launch Dr Elizabeth Mitchell, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, highlighted the fact that 50 people died from mesothelioma in 2006.
A large percentage of these people would have been employed in the construction industry. She explained that asbestos fibres persist for long periods in the lung.
Dr Mitchell said: “By empowering people to make wise decisions about how they manage asbestos we are helping them invest in their future health.”
