Mivan, a leading construction company, has successfully completed the restoration of the iconic Pearl Assurance building in Belfast. The historic building, located at One Donegall Square East, has been transformed into a state-of-the-art corporate space that blends its architectural heritage with modern functionality.
Originally built in 1902, Pearl Assurance was acquired by Mivan's parent company, The Rathbane Group, in 2015. Mivan took on the challenging task of restoring the building while preserving its original features and meeting contemporary standards.
Working in collaboration with conservation experts, Mivan meticulously restored the red sandstone façade and stunning Gothic windows. The company also implemented technical upgrades to ensure the building meets the highest modern office specifications, including CAT A office standards.
The interior fit-out was executed with a focus on elegance and practicality. Mivan carefully preserved the building's grand fireplaces and historic timber detailing while incorporating sleek glass partitions and premium finishes to create a refined and functional workspace.
Overlooking Belfast's City Hall, the office spaces have been designed to maximise natural light, with smart lighting and advanced climate control systems enhancing both comfort and sustainability.
The reception area, featuring polished black marble floors, vertical lighting, and bespoke joinery, sets a contemporary tone while paying homage to the building's timeless grandeur.
Communal spaces have been thoughtfully crafted to enhance the tenant experience, including modern breakout areas and a stylish outdoor terrace which offers stunning views and provides a unique space for relaxation and networking, further elevating the building's appeal to businesses seeking a prestigious address.
The successful completion of Pearl Assurance House marks a key milestone in Mivan's strategy to act as a principal contractor for high-profile developments across Northern Ireland, the UK, and Ireland, reinforcing the company's commitment to excellence and craftsmanship in the construction industry.
