Radius Housing uses specialist care home building contractors to renovate and transform care homes into modern, comfortable and functional facilities. These renovations, combined with excellent staff and care services, not only improve the facility and service levels within the community but also attract more residents. Refurbishments can vary based on the building's age, condition and residents' needs. They may involve major structural changes if the building is in poor condition, as well as extensions or new constructions. Often, refurbishments focus on remodelling the interior of the existing building.

As part of the company's ongoing Care & Support programme, Radius Housing is investing over £4 million in a transformative refurbishment at the Glenalina Lodge scheme in Belfast. The project includes a complete electrical rewire, replacement of all plumbing pipework and a thorough overhaul of the fire protection and alarm systems. This includes updating fire doors, escape routes, and fire compartmentalisation, as well as making supportive structural and layout changes. The refurbishment is anticipated to be completed by January 2025.

This residential care home specialises in providing support for dementia, offering round-the-clock care and engaging daily activities. With 25 care homes or day centres across NI there is a consistent requirement for these homes to be refurbished to ensure residents continue to receive the high-quality care they deserve and Millbrook’s renovation is part of our rolling 5-year strategic plans for review and renovation.
