Mid and East Antrim (MEA) Borough Council has started work on the Local Development Plan (LDP) 2030 – draft Local Policies Plan (LPP) as it initiates a public consultation called 'Call For Sites'.
Following the adoption of the Plan Strategy in October 2023, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has begun work on the Local Policies Plan (LPP), the second phase of the Local Development Plan. The LPP will outline local policies, including site-specific proposals, designations and land use zonings.
As part of the LPP process, the Council has initiated a public consultation called 'Call for Sites.' This aims to provide landowners, developers and interested parties with an early opportunity to propose sustainable and available sites within the Mid and East Antrim area for consideration in the LPP development.
The 'Call for Sites' will help identify a potential pool of sites for further consideration when preparing the Local Policies Plan. The online survey form is the most straight-forward method of submitting suggested sites and is available at on the Survey123 ArcGIS platform. Alternatively, the public can suggest a site using the downloadable consultation response form, which is also available on the 'Call for Sites' web page.
The consultation is currently open and will close at 5pm on Monday 30 September 2024.
The LDP Team will also be running a series of drop-in sessions for anyone who would like to speak to the team in person about the consultation. These drop-in sessions will take place from 6pm - 8pm on:
• Tuesday 13 August 2024 - The Braid, Ballymena
• Thursday 22 August 2024 - Town Hall, Larne
• Thursday 5 September 2024 - Town Hall, Carrickfergus
