Works are due to commence next week and will be completed by March 2024. The section of works will take place on the R591 from O'Sullivans Bar, Crookhaven to Killane Bay Beach.
Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin said: "The section of water main that we are replacing has burst several times, so we are delighted to progress these upgrades for the local community, providing them with a more reliable water supply. To deliver the works safely and efficiently, short sections along the R591 will have a stop-go traffic management system in place.

"These works are another part of a significant investment programme by Uisce Éireann to improve the water network in Cork, prioritising investment where it is needed most and enabling these communities to thrive. We would like to thank customers in advance for their cooperation and patience while we complete these essential works."
Uisce Éireann said that the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned disruption.
