Farrans Foundation has been awarded the status of CPD Approved Graduate Development Programme by Engineers Ireland (EI).

The status award means Farrans is only the third construction and civil engineering company on the island of Ireland to hold the accolade.

Engineers Ireland CPD approval demonstrates that Farrans' programme meets the needs of today's graduates and tomorrow's professionals by strengthening talent attraction and retention. Farrans Foundation is fully aligned to chartership with the relevant professional bodies including IEI, ICE,CIOB RICS and ICES.

Farrans submission demonstrated that they met the four required elements of the Engineers Ireland CPD Approved Graduate Development Programme framework: graduate development programme policy/brochure, fundamental non-technical skills, mentoring supports for graduates and fundamental technical knowledge and skills.

Cara Hanna, Graduate, Apprentice and Placement Business Partner, Farrans Construction, said: "We are delighted that Engineers Ireland has recognised the high quality of our graduate programme with CPD approval today. We know that Farrans Foundation provides our graduates with an ideal bridge between education and employment through a blend of classroom learning and on site experience. We equip our recruits with the skills they need to perform at the highest level and the modules, mentoring, rotations and progression opportunities we provide are designed to make them well-rounded by the time they graduate from the foundation.

"There are only two other construction companies on the island of Ireland who hold this status and, as we prepare to launch our 2024 recruitment campaign for graduates and placements in September 2023, this will be an excellent benefit to bring to those who are keen to embark on a civil engineering or construction pathway."
