NI Water has pledged a donation to Larne Football Club's Youth Academy to support its Scholarship Programme.

The utility has donated 24 pre-loved desktop devices as part of the wider 'Laptops for Larne' initiative.

The 24 devices have been set up in a new technology centre, based at the Cliff in the town and has been named the NI Water Education Suite. It will give junior footballers at the Brighter Futures Football Academy, greater opportunities to benefit from new technology; the wider community will also score a home goal as they are also welcome to improve their keyboard skills.

Speaking about the partnership, General Manager, Larne Football Club, Niall Curneen added: "We are extremely thankful to NI Water for their contribution of 24 desktop devices, which has made a massive change to the way our Scholarship Programme can function on a daily basis alongside providing a learning hub to benefit the entire community.

"Since the instalment of the desktops, we have been able to move our students to The Cliff permanently, which is a vastly improved learning environment and we are already seeing the benefits of this in their work."
