Resurfacing Scheme To Take Place In Glenanne

The County Armagh village of Glenanne is set to become the latest in the region to undergo road improvement works.

Approximately £410,000 is being invested to deliver works on Mowhan Road, from South of the Tullyallen Road junction to the Glenanne Road junction. This will include carriageway patching, resurfacing and drainage improvements

The Department for Infrastructure will begin work on Monday 18 October.


An initial road closure for preparatory work and drainage investigation will be in place from 9am until 6pm each day from Monday 18 October until Thursday 28 October 2021. 

A second closure will be required for final resurfacing in the weeks following this and details will be made available and variable messages signs updated on site when dates are confirmed. The road will be open in the evenings and at weekends.

During periods of closure traffic will be diverted via Mowhan Road, Newry Street, Gosford Road, Bessbrook Road, Main Street Mountnorris, Maytown Road, Kingsmill Road and Mowhan Road.

Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained although some delays may be experienced.
