Construction News Image
A programme of roadworks is set to get underway in Keady, Co Armagh, starting next week.

An investment of £375,000 will support improvement work on Annvale Road, extending from the A29 Newtownhamilton Road junction towards the B3 Tassagh Road junction.

Work will begin on Monday 11 October with a series of road closures implemented throughout.

An initial road closure for preparatory work and drainage investigation will be in place from 9am until 6pm each day from Monday 11 October until Friday 22 October 2021.

A second closure will be required for final resurfacing in the weeks following this and details will be made available when dates are confirmed. The road will be open evenings and at weekends.

During periods of closure traffic will be diverted via the B3 Tassagh Road, A29 Kinelowen Street, A29 Bridge Street, A29 Victoria Street and A29 Darkley Road.

Local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained although some delays may be experienced.

Commenting on the scheme, Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the rural road network to the benefit of all who use it. I would like to thank local residents and businesses in advance for their cooperation and ask that they comply with all temporary traffic restrictions while these much needed works are completed."
