A programme of roadworks is set to place in Bangor starting next week.
An investment of £250,000 has been put forward to support the resurfacing scheme on the A2 Donaghadee Road Roundabout.
Work will begin on Monday 11 October and is expected to be complete by Wednesday 27 October. Traffic management schemes will be in place throughout to facilitate the works.
The traffic management measures will involve an initial phase of daytime lane closures for preparatory work for one week from Monday 11 October 2021. There will then be a series of night-time closures of the Donaghadee Road Roundabout, from Sunday 17 October to Saturday 23 October and from Monday 25 October to Tuesday 26 October. The closures will run from 7pm to 6am.
During these times a diversion will be in place. The traffic at Gransha Road roundabout will be diverted via: C0252 Gransha Road, A48 Cotton Road, A48 Newtownards Road, A48 Moat Street, U9204 Union Street, A2 Shore Street, A2 Warren Road, A2 Donaghadee Road and A2 Groomsport Road.
The diversion at Groomsport Road roundabout will be signed with traffic being diverted via: B0511 Groomsport Road, B21 Donaghadee Road, B0197 Hamilton Road, C0252 Castle Street and C0252 Gransha Road. Access for local residents and Bloomfield shopping centre will be maintained.
Local access for residents, and users of schools, and emergency services will be maintained at all times during the works although some delays may be experienced.
