Fermanagh And Omagh Residents To Shape Play Park Facilities

Construction News Image
Views are being sought from residents in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area to shape local play park facilities.

The Council is calling on members of the public to make their voices heard to inform the development of play parks across the district. This follows on from the recent approval of a new Play Park Strategy which will guide the future provision, upgrade, development and sustainable management of play parks.

As part of year one works for the strategy, development and transformation of the play areas in Tempo, Jubilee Hill (Trory), Clabby and Lisnarick have been identified as priority.

The proposals will see the play parks in Tempo, Jubilee Hill (Trory) and Lisnarick upgraded, making them modern and inclusive, and the transformation of the play park at Morrow Park, Clabby into a high quality green space for use by the community.

Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said: "The play strategy aims to develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for inclusive and accessible play spaces and provision across the district that meets the needs of all our children and young people.

"I would encourage the residents of these areas to make their views known on the plans for play facilities in the villages either by attending one of the four sessions or by completing the online survey online."

A number of consultation sessions will take place next week, with those unable to attend in person also having the opportunity to submit their views via an online survey.

Details can be found on the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council website.
