Damaged Bridge To Be Replaced In Omagh

A damaged bridge is to be replaced on Dreenan Road in Omagh.

Bracky Bridge was one of five bridges to be damaged beyond repair.

The Department of Infrastructure (DoI) is investing £260,000 on a bridge replacement scheme, and the work is to start on 17 November.

The new bridge will be a single span reinforced concrete structure with masonry parapets.


Welcoming the commencement of the works on the bridge Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon said: "It is great to see work commence on the bridge following the devastating consequences of the 2017 floods. I recognise it has been a difficult time for the local community while the bridge has been closed, however, I am sure they will join me in looking forward to seeing the bridge back in full use."

The work is expected to be completed in May 2021.
