Female SWELL Workers Mark International Women's Day

The female workers behind the cross-border SWELL project (Shared Waters Enhancement & Loughs Legacy) have joined forces to celebrate International Women's Day.

Taking place on Sunday 08 March, International Women's Day 2020 focuses on the theme #EachforEqual where an equal world is an enabled world.  

The women behind SWELL voiced their support behind the day while working on the project, which sets out to deliver new wastewater treatment works as well as upgrades to sewerage networks on both sides of the border to address wastewater pollution in Carlingford Lough and Lough Foyle.


These women are qualified in engineering, scientific, project management, environmental, health & safety, communications and business development roles, highlighting the unique and diverse contribution women are making to this major cross-border project.

NI Water is urging anyone who wants to take action on International Women's Day to challenge stereotypes, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements.
