Lever Hoist vs. Chain Hoist?
There are generally two main types of manual hoists: Hand Chain Hoists and Ratchet Lever Hoists. As their names suggest, hand (chain) hoists move a load by pulling a chain, whereas ratchet (lever) hoists operate by cranking a lever up and down.
Hand Hoists
Hand hoists have a greater WLL as they have the ability to lift large loads of up to 50,000kg. These hoists are ideal for lifting high vertical loads where speed is not a requirement.

While both are similar in use, the Yale Handy Ratchet is the smallest, lightest one for professional applications with a capacity of 250g / 500g. The Yale C85, on the other hand, is designed for heavy duty work with the ability to pull loads of up to 10,000kg.
