Lagan Valley MLA Trevor Lunn urged Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard to ensure spending is strategically planned to avoid continually carrying out expensive repairs.

He said: "There has been a significant level of housebuilding in the Lisburn area, resulting in an increase in the number of cars on our roads. To fully meet the needs of these motorists, and the many thousands of motorists right across Northern Ireland. Our road network is a vital component to assist our economic wellbeing, therefore urgent action is required."
