L'Derry Building Firm Fined For Breaching Waste Management Legislation

A building firm in Co L'Derry has been fined for breaching waste management legislation.

O'Kane and McLaughlin Builders Ltd in Ardmore has been fined £250 and an offender levy of £15 at Londonderry Magistrates' Court.

Officers from the Northern Ireland Environment Agency visited the site on Green Road on three occasions between March 2013 and May 2015. They found quantities of construction and demolition waste deposited on the site and infilled down the bank from the edge of the road.

The company did not hold the relevant waste management licence or an exemption to deposit or keep waste at the site.
